World Series of Poker

The new year has come with even more experienced poker players in the industry and has already started to prove that it will be a competitive poker playing year. The game is proving difficult for many players and some of the heavyweights of the 2008-2009 WSOP were kicked out earlier on in the game. Poker players have completely upped their game. Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier, a pro player at Pokerstars.com was the man to watch for during this season of the WSOP tournament. He initially began with a strong lead winning most of the pots in the early stages.

World Poker Tour and other major tournaments

Other common global tournaments that are common are World Poker Tour (WPT) and The Hollywood Poker. The Hollywood Poker commences on the March 20th and goes on until March 24th. The World Poker Tour, however decided not to run for an 8th season this time round in order to give way for an event at the Hollywood Casino in Indiana. No doubt this years WSOP will be an interesting one.
